REHABILITATION

Whole Horse Approach

We work directly with your Veterinarian to create an effective and agile rehab program for your equine athlete. Together, we look at the whole horse; body condition, hooves, movement, balance, compensations, nutrition, and behavior to not only rehabilitate but also prevent reoccurring injuries.
All bodies heal faster with the absence of stress and tension. For horses, this requires trust and safety in their surroundings. Our specialized facility allows even the most restricted horse to safely be out amongst the herd, to graze, and to maintain their normal day to day without the fear and stress of confinement or withdrawal. At Headwaters your horse feels safe in their surroundings and experience cooperative care with staff who are trained to listen to their needs.

MOVEMENT
Motion is lotion. With attached runs in their private stalls, daily turnout, and exercise we provide opportunities for movement from sun up to sun down. Horses also have daily movement analysis in hand and/or undersaddle, to gather critical feedback to assist us in addressing body compensations and compensatory issues.

NUTRITION
Bodies heal from the inside out. With data from your veterinarian we verify your horses is receiving the minerals and nutrition that will fuel their recovery. We monitor hydration, address mineral imbalances, digestive issues, inflammation, fat/protein ratios and ensure stress free feedings.

THERAPIES
We incorporate daily therapies to support your horses recovery throughout their rehab program. Daily we have options to utilize PEMF, massage, heat, cold laser, as well as curate a team of care professionals who specialize in bodywork, acupuncture, and chiropractic.
